CLEAR

CLEAR stands for Choosing Life, Empowerment, Actions and Results. CLEAR is an intervention with which you meet weekly and create goals to better your life in whichever way you choose. The sessions are intense one hour meetings and they really help you acknowledge how your feelings directly relate to your actions.

Sessions

CLEAR is comprised of a minimum of 7 sessions in which everything from HIV stigma to reduction of risk of transmitting/acquiring HIV is discussed. The topics on these sessions are chosen by you, so you have the option of talking about a range of subjects one-on-one with the counselor rather than focusing solely on one subject.

MpowerSD

MpowerSD is as social and HIV prevention program for gay/bi men ages 25 and up. MpowerSD organizes a lot of social events, discussion groups, outreach and even volunteer opportunities. The program itself is composed of three main parts: Guy Talks, CORE Groups and Social Events.

What is Guy Talk?

Guy Talks are safe sex workshops where honest conversations can take place between gay/bi/curious men in a supportive and comfortable space. Guy talks are safe places to ask questions, share your opinion, and to learn something new. What is the CORE Group?

Get more involved and empower the community at the same time by becoming a part of the MpowerSD CORE group. As a CORE group member, you will help plan social events and organize volunteer opportunities. CORE group meets once a month and makes essential decisions regarding the program. They decide the who, what, where and when of social events and outreach activities. CORE group members are also involved in the social marketing aspect of the program, among many other things. What is a Social Event?

MpowerSD has held some of the best social events in Hillcrest. We have done everything from large scale pool parties, beach bonfires, mountain retreats in Julian, CA holding its annual M-azing Race Scavenger Hunt in Balboa Park.
